YouTube TV adds channels and raises prices
YouTube TV, the platform’s live television subscription service, has added channels including TNT, Adult Swim, TBS, CNN, Cartoon Network, truTV, and Turner Classic Movies to its lineup. Subscribers will also soon have access to NBA TV and MLB Network.
YouTube TV will soon be available in more than 85% of US households
However, the channel additions come with a price bump: YouTube TV will cost $40 per month for those who sign up after March 13. Currently, subscribers pay $35 each month.
The service now offers more than 50 channels, including NBC, ABC, ESPN, CBS, BBC America, National Geographic and the Disney Channel, but YouTube TV has yet to strike deals with Viacom and Scripps.
According to YouTube TV, the streaming service will become available to the top 100 US markets in the coming weeks. When it initially launched last April, it was only available in five markets, but by December had spread to more than 80.
Perks of YouTube TV include unlimited storage for recordings and the fact that it allows for six users per account.
