These awards bring together individuals and companies at the forefront of social media and provide the perfect opportunity to prove you are the best in the industry.

Dixon Carphone Group's head of social media and content, Angela Bertham wants to see campaigns that entrants truly love but also have the metrics to back up success. She said: “I would really talk about the insight behind the idea, as I think some of the best are based on emotions and scenarios that consumers can really connect with.

“I think data is still, and will continue to be very important, so its combining that creativity with the right audience data. That data may be the insight that’s helping shape the ideas or it may be data that’s helping us talk to a really relevant audience.”

The judging panel also includes: Dentsu Aegis Network global head of social media and content, Sabrina Rodriguez; head of digital brand marketing and PR, TalkTalk, Ben Ayers; head of social media, Barclays, Samantha Gray; social media lead, O2 UK Telefonica UK Limited and deputy social media manager, Nasa, Jason Townsend.

Weber Shandwick won seven awards in 2017, including the coveted Grand Prix.

Rodrigues will be looking for novel ways of leveraging social platform features and connecting with customers in a way that delivers against a concrete business goal and marketing objective. She said: “Be clear on the ‘why’ as well as the ‘how’ and show how you’ve been inventive with how to tackle a business problem through social, community and content.

“Being able to demonstrate your best work not only contributes towards setting new industry standards but is a great exercise in understanding what helps build your brand.”

The entry deadline is Friday 7 September, download your entry pack now and show the industry the outstanding work you have been producing.

Sponsors of the awards are UGCA
