Following are eight of our stellar list of judges:

Jason Townsend, deputy social media manager, Nasa

Jason Townsend

Jason Townsend, deputy social media manager, Nasa

Townsend has worked in the digital communications industry for 14 years with experience in strategic and innovative use of social media messaging and website content. He is currently the deputy special media manager at Nasa and has focused on covering the agency’s people, missions and programs across a digital landscape of over 500 social media accounts on 18 platforms.

He has worked on projects that have earned two Shorty Awards for best use of social media, two Webby Awards for best corporate use of social media and two Webby Awards for best websites.

Sabrina Rodriguez, global head of social media and content, Dentsu Aegis Network

Sabrina Rodriguez

Currently the global head of social media and content at Dentsu Aegis Network, Rodriguez is a digital leader and expert in social media, content and digital marketing with experience working in international roles and supporting digital transformation programmes across the Telco, Financial Services and Media Industries.

She heads up the first global digital centre of excellence at Dentsu and is responsible for the development and activation of its global digital marketing strategy including social media, content, website, SEO, CRM and PPC.

Ben Ayers, head of digital brand marketing and PR, TalkTalk

BEN AYERS

Ayers is a marketer who has worked with various brands and agencies including: Comic Relief, the BBC, the Science Museum, Santander, media agency Carat and ITV. He is currently the head of digital brand marketing and PR at TalkTalk.

On the awards, he said: "Although social media has been somewhat elevated in the public consciousness of late, as we get clearer about the framework we want to build as a society we’re also clearer about the opportunities for communications. In 2018 it feels less like the wild west - there’s better understanding of where social ‘fits’ and still heaps of opportunity to do really great work."

Cecilia Dominici, head of social media and content, Cancer Research UK

Cecilia Dominici

Dominici is the head of social media and content at Cancer Research UK. She has worked in the social, digital and content marketing space for over a decade and has previously worked with brands and agencies such as: Weetabix, Xbox, Coors Light, easyJet, T-Mobile, Deutsche Bank, GSK, EA, Alton Towers, Selfridges, Nokia and Jimmy Choo.

Greg Allum, global head of social media, Jellyfish

Greg Allum

Allum is an experienced client-side and agency marketer who joined Jellyfish in 2017 to drive forward the agency’s social media capability and lead its growing team.

Prior to joining Jellyfish, he worked for brands including British Gas, Legal and General and more recently Sony Electronics where he was European head of social.

"I'm delighted to be part of the judging panel for this year's Social Buzz awards," he said. "I'll be looking for work that demonstrates a true understanding of its target audiences, knows how to reach them effectively, and delivers meaningful business outcomes. Good luck to all those that enter."

Samantha Goldring, head of social media, Barclays UK

Samantha Goldring

Goldring heads up the social media marketing team at Barclays UK, leading the team to plan, create, deliver, monitor and measure cut through content via its social media channels and wider.

She has previously worked with media agency MEC and Google.

Claire Twohill, director, social and innovation, FleishmanHillard

CLAIRE TWOHILL

Twohill, leads FleishmanHillard Fishburn’s London social and innovation practice. She has more than 13 years’ experience in creating award-winning digital and social media campaigns for brands including Google, YouTube, V05, Evian, Chivas Regal, Durex and Energizer, to name a few.

Before joining FleishmanHillard Fishburn Claire worked at Cirkle PR as the head of digital and at the integrated agency Havas Worldwide London as the head of social media.

Laura Lesser, social media lead, O2

LLSB18

Lesser looks after everything social at O2 from brand, business and trading campaigns, to sponsorships of The O2, O2 Academy venues and England Rugby. Since joining last year some highlights include working on the Women’s Rugby World Cup campaign, the multi-award winning Oops, live music with Follow the Rabbit and The Gig That Changed My Life content series with Channel 4 and most recently a new O2 Family campaign and partnership with Netflix, including an exclusive viewing party of the new series of Orange is the New Black.

Before this, Lesser was agency side launching the Lidl Social Price Drop at 360i and with a long stint at Outside Line/Saatchi & Saatchi leading a range of digital and social projects for the likes of Mr Kipling, Toyota, Visa, Oxo, Beck’s, Asda and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
