Moseley marketer becomes one of the first in UK to secure AI accolade during lockdown
Moseley businessman Gez McGuire has become one of the first people in the UK to become accredited in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Birmingham businessman Gez McGuire becomes one of the first in the UK to achieve AI accreditation
The AI Business Strategies and Applications qualification, from the highly-renowned Berkeley University in California, covers eight modules including robotics, AI strategy and building your AI team.
McGuire, who is the founder of Birmingham-based MCG Digital Media and was one of the first people in the UK to become a certified Google advertising professional in 2004, completed the course during lockdown.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategies (BEIS) estimates that AI could add an additional £630bn to the UK economy by 2035.
The new AI accreditation allows Gez to better understand and work with AI algorithms to create AI strategies, along with helping firms adopt AI to be more efficient and profitable.
Adopting and developing AI strategies for growing companies will become commonplace over the course of this decade and is something that Gez feels will be essential for businesses transitioning to a post-Covid world.
McGuire said: “Having worked with Google’s AI algorithms for more than 15 years, I have a great understanding of how an AI, through its own continuous learning capability, can work for businesses both globally and locally.
“This latest accreditation adds to this knowledge and will allow me to create more innovative and advanced opportunities for companies across the UK seeking to grow post-Covid.
“To be one of the first in the UK to have secured this qualification is a great personal achievement and I look forward to using my new skills to support more small and medium-sized businesses.”
